Truth and Reconciliation: Blanket Exercise
Developed by KAIROS Canada, a coalition of Christian churches and organizations committed to social justice and reconciliation, the Blanket Exercise is an interactive workshop that invites educators to experience the history and legacy of colonization in Canada from the perspective of Indigenous peoples.
Through guided role-play and reflection, participants will deepen their understanding of the impacts of colonization, the resilience of Indigenous communities, and the ongoing journey toward truth and reconciliation in response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action.
This session provides space for meaningful dialogue on the role of education in fostering respectful relationships and reconciliation.
The intended audience for this session is Kindergarten to Grade 7 educators.
This will take place on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, from 12:00pm to 3:00pm.
