Truth and Reconciliation
Developed by KAIROS Canada, a coalition of Christian churches and organizations committed to social justice and reconciliation, the Blanket Exercise is an interactive workshop that invites educators to experience the history and legacy of colonization in Canada from the perspective of Indigenous peoples.

High school learning support teachers will continue working toward a common vision of relevant learning for CISVA students with diverse needs.

CISVA CSL K-7 Puzzle Piece #3: Portfolios (Revisited)
This session offers a focused revisit of student portfolios as part of the CISVA Communicating Student Learning (CSL) framework. We will clarify the purpose of portfolios, consider practical approaches for gathering and reflecting on student learning over time, and explore connections to learning standards and proficiency development. Sample ideas and tools will be shared to support classroom use.

Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training (CPI) Day 1
This training focuses on problem solving and decision making when managing a student who presents risk behaviours. It prepares staff to prevent and de-escalate medium to high-risk behaviour, and it includes practical skill development to address a broader range of behaviours and emotions.

High School Lead Learners: Assessment and Reporting Pro-D Series 2025–2026
Teacher leaders nominated from each CISVA secondary school will engage in a series of professional learning sessions focused on strengths-based assessment and reporting aligned with BC’s redesigned curriculum and Student Reporting Policy.

Elementary Faith Development Facilitators (EFDF) Meeting #1
Elementary Faith Development Facilitators (EFDF) Meeting #1
EFDFs meet three times a year to gather information, network with colleagues from other CISVA elementary schools and share experiences and resources that will help support staff members’ faith development needs and assist in the realization of the faith-based goals from the School Growth Plan.
This meeting is for Elementary Faith development Facilitators in the CISVA elementary schools.

The Challenge of Leadership course is a locally developed course intended for individuals who seek to meet the criteria to become potential administrators in the CISVA.

Elementary Assessment Advocates' Work Bee
This repeat session offers another opportunity to revisit key concepts from the May workshop. Participants will clarify proficiency, explore ways to make assessment tools more student-friendly, and experiment with using AI to generate draft rubrics from calibrated success criteria.

Challenge of Leadership #2
The Challenge of Leadership course is a locally developed course intended for individuals who seek to meet the criteria to become potential administrators in the CISVA. The course content has been created to complement the BC Catholic School Leadership Course (a requirement for anyone seeking to be a principal of a Catholic school in BC) that is offered in the summer. This locally developed course will cover topics that are specific and relevant to the CISVA in particular.
CISVA Potential Administrators are encouraged to attend.
This course will take place on 2 dates:
Part 1 - October 8, 2025
Part 2 - October 15, 2025

Foundations of the Catholic Faith (Section 1) - Fall
Foundations of the Catholic Faith (Section I) - Fall
The overarching structure of Foundations of the Catholic Faith is based on the Catechism of the Catholic Church and is designed to provide teachers with some basic knowledge and tools to become a more effective Catholic educator in the Archdiocese of Vancouver. Section I surveys the Creeds and the Sacraments of the Catholic Church.
This is to be completed by newly hired teachers and all CISVA Teachers.
This course is a contractual obligation to complete.

Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training (CPI) Day 1
This training focuses on problem solving and decision making when managing a student who presents risk behaviours. It prepares staff to prevent and de-escalate medium to high-risk behaviour, and it includes practical skill development to address a broader range of behaviours and emotions.

I am a Gift from God Training
This half-day workshop will provide newly appointed principals and all CISVA teachers new to grades Kindergarten - 3 with information and directives for recognizing child abuse indicators, and the appropriate responses for dealing with such situations.

High School Learning Support Teachers’ PLC #2
High School Learning Support Teachers’ PLC #2
High school learning support teachers will continue working toward a common vision of relevant learning for CISVA students with diverse needs. This group regularly meets with the goal of fostering systematic and effective strategies, resources and methods of supports to meet the needs of diverse learners. The group continues to build professional skills and capacity with a focus on emotional wellness, assessment strategies, behaviour support, transition planning and IEP development. The PLC meetings provide a forum for discussion, problem solving, and professional networking.
It is strongly recommended that all high school learning support teachers attend the PLC regularly throughout the year. At least one consistent learning support teacher from each high school team is expected at each meeting.

The overarching structure of Foundations of the Catholic Faith is based on the Catechism of the Catholic Church and is designed to provide teachers with some basic knowledge and tools to become a more effective Catholic educator in the Archdiocese of Vancouver. Section II outlines Moral Theology, Scripture, Social Teaching, Teacher as Catechist and, Teacher Resilience.

Elementary Assessment Advocates' Work Bee
This Pro-D session invites the Elementary Assessment Advocates to take the next purposeful step in rubric development—moving from classroom-generated and AI-enhanced success criteria to proficiency language that reflects province-wide calibration as articulated in the BC K–12 Literacy and Numeracy Learning Pathways.

This session will address the best practices in inclusive education, Ministry based policy, orders, and protocols, Competency Based IEPs, and assessment practices that support diverse learners. CISVA updates and news will also be a focus.

Called to Serve
This retreat is designed to support and enhance the service of those involved with leadership within a school. It will support participants in identifying the qualities of a servant leader by recounting important moments in Jesus’ ministry.

File Retention + Transfer Workshop
This workshop will highlight applicable ministry and CISVA policy, ministerial orders and FISA best practice guidelines for file management, retention and transfer. This session will review ministry direction and provide practical ideas for local decision making.

High school learning support teachers will continue working toward a common vision of relevant learning for CISVA students with diverse needs. This group regularly meets with the goal of fostering systematic and effective strategies, resources and methods of supports to meet the needs of diverse learners.

Theme Development Day
On this special day, CISVA educators will come together to be introduced to the faith theme for the 2026–2027 school year. Rooted in Scripture and Catholic teaching, the new theme will be unpacked through prayer, reflection, and dialogue.

PATH Training
PATH is a hope-filled approach to assist students with diverse abilities navigate the next steps after their K-12 schooling is complete. It addresses the holistic needs of a student taking into consideration the many interrelated areas of his/her life in the school, community and at home.
