The Catholic Independent Schools of Vancouver Archdiocese (CISVA) greatly values our longstanding relationships with parents, teachers, students, principals, and staff of our Catholic schools, as well as other individuals who have a strong interest in Catholic education, including priests, donors, and other lay people who might visit www.cisva.bc.ca from time to time.

 

It is of utmost importance to CISVA to protect the privacy rights of all visitors to our website. Our policies regarding tracking, donation collection and processing, and use of data are provided below.

Site Navigation

 

Our goal is to provide our website visitors with information about our organization in a straightforward manner. Visitors other than staff are not required to register to access any part of cisva.bc.ca. Staff members are required to provide the required password to access the Staff Access pages of the website. No personal information is required for Staff Access.

 

Types of Information Collected

 

We do not collect any personally identifiable information about you—such as your name and postal or e-mail address—except when you provide it to us. For example, we will ask you for personally identifiable information, such as your name, address and email address, upon your request to join our mailing list.

 

When you submit your personally identifiable information on our website, you are giving your consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information as set forth in this Privacy Policy. If you would prefer that we not collect any personally identifiable information from you, please do not provide us with any such information.

 

Our cisva.bc.ca website does collect some anonymous "non-personally identifiable" information about visitors automatically when pages on our website are requested through a browser, which we maintain only in aggregate form. This information is used only in the aggregate for statistical purposes and to help us monitor generally how guests navigate our website, allowing us to tailor our website content for the majority of visitors.

 

How Information Is Used

 

The information you provide may be used by us to create and deliver to you our e-mails, mailings, surveys or other communications concerning our organization. We may use the information you provide in aggregate form for internal business purposes, such as generating statistics and developing enrollment marketing plans.

 

We will not sell or rent your personally identifiable information to third parties without your consent, except as disclosed in this Privacy Policy. We may disclose any information, including personally identifiable information, we deem necessary, in our sole discretion, to comply with any applicable law, regulation, legal process or governmental request.

 

Vendors

 

We may retain vendors, including external companies and individuals, to perform functions on our behalf. Such third parties may be provided with access to personally identifiable information needed to perform their functions, but are bound by strict confidentiality agreements in place between them and CISVA.

Children under the age of 13

Our Website is not intended for children under 13 years of age (or 16 years of age for those who habitually reside in the EU, which applies to the remainder of the paragraph that follows). No one under these ages may provide any personal information to the Website. If you are under 13, do not use or provide any information on this Website or on or through any of its features, register on the Website, use any of the interactive or public comment features of this Website or provide any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, email address or any screen name or user name you may use.

While CISVA does not specifically market to children under the age of 13 years old, data may still be transferred into the system from a 3rd party source such as a parish or school. In some cases, the parish, parents, or legal guardians may choose to enter information into the system in order to complete family and/or sacramental records.

Cookies

Cookies are small pieces of text sent to your browser when you visit a site. They serve a variety of functions, like enabling the Application to remember certain information you provided as you navigate between pages on the Services. Cookies are used for the following purposes:

Authentication, Personalization And Security. Cookies help The Archdiocese of Vancouver verify your Account and device and determine when you’re logged in, making it easier for you to access the Services and provide the appropriate experiences and features. Cookies are also used to help prevent fraudulent use of login credentials.

Performance And Analytics. Cookies help The Archdiocese of Vancouver analyze how the Services are being accessed and used, and enable performance tracking of the Services. Opting out of Cookies

There are a number ways to limit the cookies that your browser accepts or limit the way in which they’re used.

Another way of limiting cookies is by controlling cookies in your web browser’s settings. Opting out of cookies using this method will limit your ability to use our Services. The Application currently doesn’t respond to DNT:1 signals from browsers visiting our Services.

 

Email Communications

 

The CISVA Superintendent's Office sends occasional e-mail updates and program information to the e-mail address you provided when you enrolled your child or children in our schools, or when you joined the mailing list for CISVA. Third Party Protection/Mailing Lists

 

All donors and email recipients have the option to request that their names not be shared with third party organizations. CISVA does not share or sell the names of our members to any organization whatsoever.

Users may find content on our website that links to the sites of our partners, sponsors or other third parties. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites. This Privacy Policy applies only to the information we collect on this website.

 

Notification of Changes
