Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training (CPI) Day 2

Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training (CPI) Day 2

This training focuses on problem solving and decision making when managing a student who presents risk behaviours. It prepares staff to prevent and de-escalate medium to high-risk behaviour, and it includes practical skill development to address a broader range of behaviours and emotions. *Registrants must have Day 1 training BEFORE taking Day 2

Key Updates: CPI has a revised 3rd edition.

The shift from the 2nd Edition to the 3rd Edition aligns more closely with modern trauma-informed and person-centered approaches.

  • Greater focus on proactive prevention rather than crisis management.

  • Trauma-informed and person-centered lens, acknowledging individual student needs.

Updated safety intervention techniques to further reduce the use of physical holds.
